Joel is originally from College Station, Texas where he began dancing at the age of nine at his mother's dance studio and soon found his love for dance. At the age of 16, Joel started training at American Jazz Dance and International Ballet of Houston. Joel has received numerous awards and scholarships in all genres of dance. He has attended Summer Intensives with ABT-(American Ballet Theatre), NYCDA, The Pulse, NUVO, and West Coast Dance Explosion. He has trained with many choreographers and at several intensives and performed for a year closely alongside the Tremaine Faculty staff in their performance company. He assisted the staff, teachers, and choreographers in the convention classes, awards, and traveled to various cities under the direction of Joe Tremaine, Jeff Amsden, and Desiree Robins. As well as being a performer, Joel has also grown to love teaching and has been teaching master classes and year-long classes to students of all ages. His choreography spans a wide range of styles, from Contemporary to Hip Hop as well as classic styles. After training with American Jazz Dance Company he received a full dance scholarship to Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi. He was then offered a contract with McDonald Selznick Associates in Los Angeles. He has had numerous professional jobs including performing as a Featured dancer in hit music videos such as “Best Friends Brother” starring Victoria Justice and “Infinite Love” by A.R. Rahman. Joel has performed in KidzBop, and as Prince Charming in the hit dance video game “Just Dance Disney”. Joel has been in a national holiday commercial for Verizon Wireless singing “Home for the Holidays” and danced along-side Sutton Foster on the hit TV drama “Bunheads”. Some other credits include “Shake It Up” on Disney Channel, and “Dancin' Fools” on Fox.
