Class Descriptions

A playful introduction to dance through music and motion. Children explore the movement concepts of tempo, space and energy. All young children will delight in gliding, sliding, galloping, leaving and skipping. This class will also include a segment of introductory tap and counting skills.

Emphasis in this combination class is on developing proper technique, focusing on ballet and jazz movement, proper body alignment, coordination, flexibility, floor combinations and counting.

This class is designed to develop proper technique for the safe execution of the turns, jumps, and leaps used in all forms of dance, integrating skills into progressions that challenge students across the floor and in combinations. The focus of this class will be to improve balance, coordination, flexibility and muscle memory.

This high-energy class uses the latest sounds in Hop Hop, R&B and pop music together with movements influenced by today's hottest video choreographers presented in an age-appropriate manner. The class begins with a basic warm-up to stretch and tone the body followed by fun and energetic combinations.

This class emphasizes the development of classical ballet skills with focus on proper placement, alignment and coordination of arm, leg and footwork. Students will learn ballet vocabulary through barre and center work while building strength and flexibility.

A preparation class for intermediate students ready for pointe. This class will focus on muscle strength, safety, and total body awareness. Readiness for pointe work is determined by each student's strength and physical development not by their age. The instructor will advise parents when a student has the necessary strength and maturity to go on pointe.

“My daughters and I are so glad to be a part of the On Our Toes Dance Studio family! I have so been blessed to have Tammy teach both of my daughters dance for the last 4 years. Over the years she has taught them classic dance techniques and also introduced them to fun, fresh and upcoming dance styles. Tammy shares her love and dedication to the art of dance with everyone she meets. She teaches her dancers dedication, teamwork, and of course how to have fun! We really have enjoyed the personal attention we have recieved and have never felt like just a face in a crowd. My girls can't wait to begin their 5th year with On Our Toes and we look forward to many, many more. Whether you are just starting out or if you have been dancing for years, On Our Toes Dance Studio is the perfect fit for those who love to dance!”
